In 1998, they released their debut album as Rae & Christian, Northern Sulphuric Soul. The Jungle Brothers and Jeru The Damaja both contributed to the album's songs, giving them an edge over other sampling groups of the late 1990s. Rae and his mate, who cannot be named for legal reasons, agreed to fit decking at the Kings Arms in Fenwick, Ayrshire. Charlotte Rae was born Charlotte Rae Lubotsky in 1926, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she was raised on a farm, the middle daughter of three sisters, between Beverly and Mimi. Northern Sulphuric Soul is the debut studio album by English electronic music duo Rae & Christian, released on 5 October 1998 by Grand Central Records.
In the United States, Northern Sulphuric Soul was released on the Sm:)e label, with a green version of the original orange sleeve. A remastered version was released on 12 January 2004, which contained three extra tracks and alternative sleeve art.

Some of the other key tracks borrow ideas from outside sources: the single 'Tramp' is a rap remake of the soul classic, and 'The Show Stopper' is an answer record to 's 'The Show.' Salt n pepa hot cool & amp amp amp amp amp vicious rarity. The duo's sass comes across very well on 'My Mic Sounds Nice' and 'I'll Take Your Man,' and they're equally assertive on 'Chick on the Side.' Considering how little actually rap on 'Push It,' which is all about its instrumental hook, they maintain a surprisingly strong presence over most of. No, they aren't technical virtuosos on the mic, but their fairly basic raps are carried off with brash confidence and enthusiasm.
