For some reason I do not know, several default packages in my Fedora 12 installation have gone missing, removed or uninstalled. Now, reinstalling fedora 12 is not a good idea in my current situation. Can someone guide on how can I install yum package using rpm? I mean, I can't find the repository for yum.

- In an effort to understand what issues you may be facing, I attempted to create a Fedora 10 vm the steps detailed for Fedora 8. It stuck on the Installing bootloader dialog. Did you see this problem? I turned off the vm and restarted it. Setup resumed and ran to completion this time. Fedora 10 is working just fine now.
- $ sudo apt-get install texlive-science. After you install all these packages or at least the basic, you can run LaTex by typing: $ pdflatex. You need to input a file to convert to pdf after the command. The.tex file you input will be converted to pdf. It needs to be prepared for compiling according to the LaTex format.

You might be in for a ride, especially if you're missing dependencies.Here is a page where you can view mirrors of the RPM and its dependencies, and search for the dependencies you don't have, in case the following doesn't work.
As @qweet pointed this is not a trivial thing due to the large number of prerequisites for yum, most notably python packages. My strategy would be

Have you read this post, it shows different methods of installing fonts, just make sure you have a Windows installation handy to save the Fonts from.
